In the evening, as the sun sunk below the horizon, three small creatures appeared, hovering about in my yard. At first, I thought they were moths. Then I saw that they moved rather gracefully, and their wings were a constant blur. They sucked nectar from the dyanthas in front of my porch. I decided that they had to be hummingbirds, even though they were small and had insect-like antennas. I took several pictures, and told a friend about the hummingbirds. He laughed when he saw the pictures, and said they looked like moths. So, I searched for "hummingbird moth" on google, and found out that these were, in fact, hummingbird moths. |
